Progress Proposal #6 4/11/2012
Description: In perpetration for the art show, I was think of ways to show my many prints while not taking up a lot of space. I figured that since I have been making books, I could put my monoprints into a book. So I am going to bind them into a book.
Objective: To compile my monoprints to be shown in a efficient and esthetically appealing way.
Materals: Cardboard, thread, prints, paint
Timeline: I want to have it done in a maximum of two weeks.

Progress Proposal #5 1/27/2012
Description: For my first project of the new marking period I plan on doing a project on bookmaking. I was really upset that I decided not to do the sketchbook project, so I think I am going to make up for it by making my own. I plan to make about 3”by 5” books of about 20 pages each. That seams doable in a timely manner.
Objective: I want to take ideas from the sketchbook project and the haiku box project from last year and expand on them. I may even dip into abstract storytelling, but I don’t know yet. I do know I differently want to explore intent of materials and how that varies from how they are actually used.
Materials: cardboard, canvas, paint, watercolor, ink, I really intend to you a lot of mixed media and almost anything I can find.
Timeline: I plan to make 3 books over the course of 3 to 5 weeks.

Progress Proposal #4 11/28/2011
Description: So I viewed my printing as a success and I really enjoyed it. I want to continue with it. But, I also want to mix it up a little bit. I want my focus to be the city grid of places and cities that are important to me. So it will still be abstract, but it can be recognizable.
Objective: To continue printing but to try to incorporate mix media into my works. I also want to explore mapping a little because I feel like they are really abstract.
Materials: stamps, ink, watercolor, paper
Timeline: I want to give myself around 3 to 5 weeks for this one. I find that while it takes less time per print, I want a little more time to do a lot of them and then decide which ones are the best.

Progress Proposal #3- 10/ 10/2011
Description: I really enjoyed the abstractions and my “painting on top of a painting” concept. So I want to expand on that, but with more diverse media. I am going to do a series of abstract prints and collages.
Objective: To explore abstractions in more detail and in different medias.
Materials: Paint, tissue paper, news print, rubber stamps
Timeline: Hopefully, I can do a series of 3-4 prints and 3-4 colleges in about two to three weeks. So 6-8 pieces in 2-3 weeks.

Progress Proposal #2-9/21/11
Description: After my last project was, quite frankly, a train wreck, I decided to go in a new direction with my art making. Mr. Miller has showed me some really awesome intuitive abstract artists. So I am going to a series of intuitive abstractions.
Objective: to explore this new (to me) art form and just have fun making art because the last project was anything but fun or new.
Materials: I’m keeping it simple: canvas and paint (house and acrylic)
Timeline: I hope that in about three weeks I will have anywhere from 12-15 pieces.

Progress Proposal #1!- 8/30/11
Description: For my first project in portfolio, I want to do a two part mini project. The first phase of the project is sketching different human figures and anatomy. Then, when I get more comfortable with with drawing this, I will then paint them on scraps of gutters I found in my yard. I think there will be a nice contrast between the found art gutters and the painting. Hopefully this will be a series of at least 3 pieces.
Objective: To improve my skills in not only realistic drawing/painting of humans and work on my found art skills.
Materials: 1st phase: pencils, charcoal, sketchbook, etc. 2ed phase: acrylic paint, gutter, other painting materials.
Timeline: 3-5 work sessions for the first phase, and 9-12 work sessions for the second phase.
